South Denver Water Authority Restrictions List
The summer drought is in full swing, and most, if not all, water districts have adopted some degree of water restrictions on their residences and businesses. The storms that we have been experiencing have done little to help relieve the situation, as it comes all at once and mostly runs off the hard dirt. Below, we have put together a list of the various water providers in the South Denver Metro Area and their water restrictions. If you do not see your provider in this list, it is likely not in the South Denver Metro Area. Please consult the company’s website for any further information.

CASTLE ROCK
Squares (address ends in 0, 1, 2, or 3) can water Tuesdays and Fridays
Circles (address ends in 4, 5, or 6) can water Sundays and Wednesdays
Diamonds (address ends in 7, 8 or 9) can water Mondays and Thursdays
Founders Village area will follow this schedule using previously prescribed shapes
West of Interstate 25, nonresidential customers can water Mondays and Fridays
East of I-25, nonresidential customers can water Tuesdays and Saturdays
EAST CHERRY CREEK VALLEY (ECCV)
East Cherry Creek Valley (ECCV) has Stage 1 mandatory residential watering restrictions in effect through October 31, 2026. [1, 2]
Residential Watering Rules
Frequency: Water grass yards a maximum of two days per week.
Odd Addresses: Water on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Even Addresses: Water on Sundays and Thursdays.
Prohibited Days: No grass watering on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
Time Restrictions: No irrigation is allowed between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Exceptions: Hand-watering of gardens, trees, and shrubs is permitted on any day (outside of the 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. window). [1, 2]
AURORA WATER
Aurora, Colorado is under Stage 1 Drought restrictions requiring a 20% reduction in outdoor water use. [1]
Outdoor Watering Rules
Irrigation limit: Outdoor watering is restricted to two assigned days per week.
Time restrictions: No watering is permitted between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Hand-watering: Allowed for trees and bushes between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Prohibited turf: No new cool-season turf (like Kentucky bluegrass) can be installed via sod or seed. [1, 2, 3]
General & Business Restrictions
Swimming pools: Filling new private swimming pools is banned, though “topping off” existing pools is allowed.
Water features: Decorative fountains and water features cannot be operated.
Restaurants: Drinking water is served only upon request.
Drought surcharges: An extra charge of $2.15 per 1,000 gallons applies to usage exceeding 110% of a customer’s winter quarter average. [1]
Irrigation of high-water-use grass is limited to two days per week.
Watering events beginning in the evening of one calendar day and going past midnight into the next calendar day will count as two distinct watering days.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY WWA (ACWWA)
Water Conservation and Mandatory Measures
With severe drought conditions setting up across the entire Front Range, ACWWA will be increasing to Stage 2 Water Conservation Measures beginning June 15th.
Stage 2 Mandatory Water Conservation Measures
Irrigation of landscaped areas with hose-end sprinklers or in-ground irrigation systems shall be limited to no more than TWO TIMES per week watering schedule. The watering schedule will now be based on location within Elkhorn Ranch and NOT on house number addresses as it was in the past. The defining feature being used is the creek that divides Elkhorn Ranch into two, Coal Creek.
Homes WEST of Coal Creek: Wednesday and Saturday
Homes EAST of Coal Creek: Thursday and Sunday • Watering will not be permitted from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Stage 1 will remain in place until June 15th, when Stage 2 takes effect.
If additional measures are needed to ensure a reliable water supply for all residents, heightened conservation stages will be implemented and communicated to residents via mail, ACWWA’s website, and the Elkhorn Ranch HOA website. Please help us by doing your part and following the above Stage 2 measures.
DENVER WATER
This summer, customers in single-family residential properties may water no more than two days per week and must follow a set schedule:
Addresses ending in even numbers: Sunday and Thursday.
Addresses ending in odd numbers: Wednesday and Saturday.
All other customers, including multifamily properties, commercial properties, homeowners’ associations and government properties, may water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.
In addition, customers must follow Denver Water’s annual summer watering rules:
Water only during cooler times of the day, between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.
Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days.
Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.
Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.
PARKER WATER
Parker Water & Sanitation District (PWSD) prohibits outdoor watering between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM and enforces an alternating address-based schedule during the summer. [1]
Watering Schedule Guidelines
Even-numbered addresses: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Odd-numbered addresses: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday
Multi-family, HOA, and commercial properties: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday
Prohibited hours: No watering allowed between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM (to prevent high evaporation) [1]
Water Waste Rules
Water waste is strictly prohibited at all times. You must watch out for: [1]
Irrigation runoff pooling on streets or sidewalks
Overspray hitting pavement, fences, or structures
Exceptions
Sod and Seed: Establishing new sod or seed outside standard days requires an approved permit from Parker Water & Sanitation District.
