Spring Sprinkler System Startup

Sprinkler turn-on, also called spring start-up or system activation, prepares your sprinkler system for the watering season after winter. Here is what we do for your system:

  • We inspect the full irrigation system for damage from winter, including the main water line, valves, pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads, and all other components, looking for leaks and other issues.
  • Once we’ve identified and repaired any problems, we reconnect the water supply so water can flow into the system.
  • Then we manually open and test each zone valve to confirm it operates correctly and delivers water to the proper zone.
  • We inspect each head to confirm it is in good condition, correctly adjusted, and free of obstructions; if necessary we repair or replace any damaged or malfunctioning heads.
  • We set or adjust the system controller for appropriate watering schedules and zones based on the landscape’s needs.
  • After all the inspections and adjustments, we turn on the sprinkler system to begin watering, either by manually running each zone or using the controller to start cycles.
  • Then we perform a full test to confirm all zones work properly, coverage is even, and there are no leaks or other issues.
  • Finally, we refine watering schedules, run times, and head settings to maximize system efficiency and performance.
